A Beltuinn Greeting

A Beltuinn Greeting

“Oh, do not tell the Priest our plight,
Or he would call it a sin;
But– we have been out in the woods all night,
A-conjuring Summer in!
And we bring you news by word of mouth–
Good news for cattle and corn–
Now is the Sun coming up from the South,
With Oak, and Ash, and Thorn!”

~ Rudyard Kipling

    It was good to see a representation of Old Hornie with your Beltane greetings!

    May Day in my part of England was not much of a herald of summer as it traditionally is supposed to be. In fact it was showery with a chilly wind. Mind you, because the winter was the coldest for thirty years, spring has been late this year.
