A Riddle

I am the pillar
I am the stone
I am the tree
between earth and sky

I am the lock
I am the key
I am the doorway
all must pass through

I am the mountain
I am the path
I am the centre
of the crossroad

I am the fire
I am the light
I am the brightness
illuminating dark

Came to me while cleaning the bathroom -of all things! I never seem to receive great liturgy, mostly just seemingly children’s rhymes and riddles…

I read this Riddle this morning and it struck a chord…..it stayed with me the whole day! I love it and can recite it almost completely from memory and to me that is no mean feat what with my swiss cheese for memory and all! The God-self?

Methinks this is a riddle with many correct answers – probably one for each person

Woot for memorizing it Nikkie, I haven’t even yet and I wrote the thing!

Now I’m picturing Cory in rubber gloves with a giant scrub brush… I can’t decide if it’s scary or kinky….

I like this a lot. After reading it Hermes, Cernnunos, Lucifer, and Woden/Odin came to mind. Also thought of Hecate. It made me think of the Horned ones in general. Great meditative piece for sure!

Hi there, I’ve been reading your blog for a little while now; your riddle sent a little shiver down my back, so I thought I would de-lurk and say hello.

The reason for the shiver is that when I was 17 or so, I wrote a similar riddlle, and I’d forgotten about it until a couple of days ago. The timing of your post was quite nice. Since I’ve been having a bit of UPG lately about some aspects of my path, I’m going to chalk up these riddles as part of the work and give them some thought.
