A new wand I started carving at Starfest while sitting by the sacred fire in the woods, and finished the detail work and staining at home. It’s carved out of a cedar branch I saved from the fire wood pile, the grain was too beautiful just to burn… The finial is a 3D toad, and the body of the wand is carved with fern fiddleheads, nightshade leaves, rowan leaves, and oak leaves. After carving this one now I want to make a hedge witch wand with plants and creatures associated with hedge crossing… Right now I’m carving a detailed dryad wand, it should be done in another day or two and I’ll have some pictures of it up soon.

Very nice! I love your carvings and color choices. They look very natural and organic, it compliments your wood and carvings so very nicely.
Thank you! <3
That’s GORGEOUS! Love it!
The detail is incredible; I could see it quite nicely when I enlarged the photos. The wood grain really is spectacular and cedar ages so well.
Hi Sarah
Amazing wands, you are very talented !
If I may ask, what did you use to achieve
the leaf colouring ?

Hi Matt, I use eco-friendly water-based woodstains that I mix like water colours.
Hi Sarah
Its very effective and you have inspired me to head
out into the woods this very evening !
Take care and speak soon.

I can see now why you were disappointed with the first photos; the new photos really make the colors pop! Excellent craftsmanship (or would that be witchcraftship?)
My wand curves to the left.
Well, not everyone can have the upward curve of good fortune
Yes, indeed that may well be true, but alas!!! I shall make maketh due!! For the angle of the dangle is directly proportionate to the heat of the meet. Deosil improvision grants many more fanciful decision.
Your Wand is very beautifulToadwitch, I too make Wands, and Staffs & Stangs, mostly for friends in the Craft, but occasionally for sale to purchse yet more books!
I think the wood used, its graining, and indicative curving nature, flows freely with the Energies that it addresses, and though unadorned with specific “extras”,its carving and staining is sufficiant.
I tend to use the Hazel thathas been entwined with Honeysuckle,as it lends itself well to creating the “Viper” when partially stripped of its bark along the unequal twists that nature provides, and thus allows the Serpent energies to be raisednd worked with.
Many thanks for sharing your creativity with others,
Blessings,
M.
