How Hoodooin’?

It’s been busy here in the woods lately, crafting stock for The Gathering Festival coming up in less than a month, taking on workings for clients, finishing my last custom orders, packaging botanica orders, on top of working on my various books, articles and illustrations… I think I may need some clones of myself to keep doing all this!

I also finally set up an altar for my hoodoo and client work as I like to keep it separate from my Scots altar. The banged up piece of wood is a cutting board passed down through the generations of my family. My grandparents thought I was odd for asking for it as my only inheritance, but it has more meaning to me than anything else as all the hands of my family and ancestors have touched it and used it. I’ve also received some more lovelies in the mail one necklace from a local shaman of silver, moss agate, carnelian and labradorite, it is sooo lovely but I don’t have a picture yet! I also received this incredibly witchy ritual necklace as well from Papa Toad Bone which I absolutely adore. It’s made with leather, antique ostrich shell beads, brass king beads from Ghana, coyote bones, fox teeth and an alligator tooth. I plan to wear at the Gathering to scare any fluffies… although my botanica stock of powders, potions, fetishes and skulls may do that for me anyway!

Lovely new altar, and that necklace is gorgeousness itself! Can’t wait til you get the doll

Shells and curios for jewelry would be amazing Polly! Let me know when you take a trip to the beach, maybe we can do a shell swap – maybe I can find some oyster, mussel, clam and scallop shells for you
Isn’t it fabulous Carolina? I’ve been wearing it a lot. I’m so excited about the doll! He is definitely going on the new altar!
