Just Oghaming Along…

I’ve started work on the Ogham quilt slash wall hanging. It had been sitting in my craftroom at the old house for months untouched. It matches the wall colours of my new house very nicely and I want to hang it up, so I am trying my best to finish it soon. I embroider a square at night while watching tv with my sweetie. I’m going to put it in the entryway of the house so I can see it everyday.

Starting from the top left: Ash, Blackthorn, Yew and Apple. All are painted with fabric dye and hand embroidered with pretty cotton threads – some variegated which is exciting to us hand quilters.

YAY! I found you! What kind of fabric dye do you use?

A friend who used to work at Opus gave them to me. They’re just little squeeze bottles in fluorescent colours called “Dye-na-flow”. They came in a plastic package. When you mix them together you get less flamboyantly bright colours.
